Job description
Overview
We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator with comprehensive hands-on knowledge in managing Oracle Database environments, including advanced technologies like Oracle Exadata and Real Application Clusters (RAC). This role is based onsite at our Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh office and requires expertise in database administration, tuning, high availability management, backup and recovery, security, and 24x7 production support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, monitor, and provide operational support for Oracle Database, Oracle Exadata, and Oracle RAC environments, along with other supported database technologies.
- Handle Oracle Exadata environment tasks such as monitoring, maintenance, and optimizing performance.
- Execute routine database activities including regular health monitoring, maintenance, and operational assistance.
- Oversee backup and recovery procedures following organizational guidelines.
- Investigate and troubleshoot database issues, collaborating with relevant teams to resolve problems.
- Liaise closely with application, infrastructure, and support teams to maintain database stability and reliability.
- Maintain compliance with organizational policies, processes, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate actively in 24x7 production support and on-call duties as part of rotation schedules.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in Oracle Database administration.
- Proficient with Oracle Exadata, Oracle RAC, Oracle ASM, and Oracle Data Guard.
- Hands-on experience with RMAN for backup and recovery operations.
- Strong command of SQL and PL/SQL programming.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Exposure to MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL is advantageous but not mandatory.
Preferred Expertise
- Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) database services.
- Experience in Exadata patching and upgrading processes.
- Familiarity with Oracle Golden Gate replication technology.
- Possession of Oracle certifications such as OCP or OCE is preferred.
