Domain and Product Forward Deployed Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Domain and Product Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to join our Incubate Delivery function within HCLSoftware. This position is part of the build group and focuses on tailoring and configuring our Incubate solutions to meet the unique business targets of each customer engagement. Rather than core product creation, this role specializes in making the products operational in client environments by setting up workflows, orchestrations, workbenches, and process-driven use cases through in-depth product knowledge and domain expertise.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and configure custom solutions inside Incubate products, including workflows, orchestrations, workbenches, and AI agent behaviors to satisfy specific client needs.
• Transform documented requirements and detailed designs from Context and Data Strategists into functional product configurations.
• Apply business domain insight and product expertise to choose appropriate configuration versus customization approaches, ensuring solutions are aligned with customer objectives and product best practices.
• Collaborate with AI Orchestration and Engineering teams when integration or API connectivity beyond standard configuration is required.
• Support Quality and Compliance by ensuring deliverables are testable, traceable, and adhere to acceptance criteria.
• Engage in delivery meetings and technical discussions contributing product and domain input without directly managing client communications.
• Assist in developing reusable solution patterns and configuration knowledge for wider organizational benefit.
• Configure and manage AI agent controls, including prompt templates, personas, guardrails, and escalation protocols, to ensure compliant and consistent agent behavior aligned with business processes and client policies.

Additional Role Details

• Make judgments on when to utilize standard product capabilities, extend them, or escalate alternative solutions based on domain and product understanding.
• Work iteratively to deliver and refine incremental functionality throughout the engagement lifecycle.
• Act as a bridge to validate and adjust requirements with stakeholders and maintain SME feedback loops.
• Document configuration decisions, design rationale, and lessons learned to promote knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to go-live readiness, including solution documentation and handover materials, and assist during the operate phase as needed.
