This Privacy Policy explains how Broxer ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your information when you use our website, apps and services (the "Platform"). By using Broxer, you agree to this policy.
1. Who we are
Broxer is a careers and recruitment platform that connects job seekers with employers, and provides related features such as a resume builder, company pages, messaging, groups, Q&A, articles, a blog, government-job notices, and video interviews. For data-protection purposes we act as the data controller (or "data fiduciary" under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023) for personal data processed through the Platform.
2. Information we collect
- Account & profile: name, username, email address, password (hashed), role (candidate/employer), and optional mobile number.
- Candidate data: resumes you build or upload, work experience, education, skills, headline, location, application answers, and any video-interview recordings, transcripts and related assessments.
- Employer & company data: company profile, team members, job postings, applicant pipeline notes and interview information.
- Content you create: posts, comments, questions/answers, group activity, articles and chat messages.
- Phone / WhatsApp verification: if you verify a mobile number, we record the number and the fact that it was verified (e.g. via a code you send us on WhatsApp).
- Payments & billing: plan, credits, purchases and transaction references. Card/bank details are handled by our payment gateways — we do not store full payment-card numbers.
- Usage, device & cookies: IP address, browser/device data, pages viewed, referrer, and information collected via cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookies Policy).
- Communications: messages you send us (e.g. the contact or support form) and your notification preferences.
- Acquisition data: how you found us (UTM parameters, referrer, registration method).
3. How we use your information
- Provide, operate and improve the Platform and its features.
- Match candidates with jobs and let employers and candidates connect, apply, message and interview.
- Process payments, credits and entitlements.
- Send service messages, notifications and (with your consent where required) marketing.
- Keep the Platform safe — prevent spam, fraud and abuse (e.g. honeypots, CAPTCHA, rate-limiting).
- Measure performance and run analytics and advertising (see Cookies Policy).
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
4. Video interviews & AI
If an employer invites you to a video interview, your recorded answers are shared with that employer for hiring evaluation. Recordings may be automatically transcribed and reviewed with AI assistance to help summarise and score responses; a human makes the final hiring decision. Recordings are retained only for a limited period and are then automatically deleted. AI processing is performed by trusted third-party providers under contract.
5. Cookies & tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, preferences, analytics (e.g. Google Analytics) and advertising/measurement (e.g. Meta and Google tools, including server-side measurement). For details and your choices, see our Cookies Policy.
6. How we share information
- Between users: when you apply to a job or message someone, relevant profile/application information is shared with that employer or user. Public profile content is visible to others.
- Service providers: hosting and CDN/security (e.g. Cloudflare), payment gateways (e.g. Razorpay, Instamojo, PayU), email/SMTP delivery, analytics and advertising (Google, Meta), and AI/transcription providers used for video interviews. They may process data only on our instructions.
- Legal & safety: where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and the Platform.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal data.
7. Data retention
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Platform and meet legal, accounting or reporting requirements. Video-interview recordings are deleted after their retention window. You can delete your account at any time (see below), after which we remove or anonymise your personal data, except where we must retain certain records by law.
8. Your rights & choices
- Access & correction: view and update your profile and account information from your account settings.
- Deletion / erasure: you can request permanent deletion of your account and data; this tombstones your identity and removes your personal content.
- Consent: you may withdraw consent for non-essential cookies and marketing at any time.
- DPDP / other laws: if you are in India, you have rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, including access, correction, erasure and grievance redressal. Residents of other regions may have similar rights.

9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, hashed passwords and encrypted storage of sensitive credentials — to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
The Platform is not intended for children under the age of 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a revised "Last updated" date.
