Team Overview

The Digital Preservation Vault (Vault 3.0) team is responsible for developing the next-generation archival infrastructure for the company’s media supply chain. This platform preserves and manages Warner Bros. Discovery’s valuable content spanning decades of productions, safeguarding digital and digitized assets to guarantee their integrity, accessibility, and use for purposes like remastering, redistribution, and monetization.

This globally distributed, cross-functional engineering team works across ingestion, metadata management, storage, and restoration workflows with a strong focus on data reliability, integrity, and cost-effectiveness. The team solves complex problems related to long-term preservation, high-integrity storage, and enterprise-wide content access, thus unlocking the full value of the content library.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop application service layers and user interfaces supporting the content supply chain of Warner Bros. Discovery.
• Architect and implement complete systems within the supply chain, creating diagrams that clearly illustrate required builds and their construction.
• Communicate design and coding choices effectively to peers, embrace constructive critiques, and adapt approaches to align with team and organizational standards.
• Propose and implement enhancements to best practices, documentation, design, and system architecture; provide valuable feedback during code reviews proactively.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues by analyzing source code, logs, metrics, and stack traces to identify and fix problems.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of professional full-stack software development experience involving Java, Python, or GoLang combined with Angular or React frameworks.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and programming languages as needed.
• Experience working with event-driven architectures or asynchronous messaging services such as AWS Lambda and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in creating dashboard interfaces using micro-front-end architecture with Angular or React.
• Familiarity with both NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) and SQL databases is advantageous.
• Experience working in SAFe Agile environments collaborating with teams to iteratively develop and improve software.
• Background in designing and building applications related to media workflows, catalogs, and asset registries is a plus.
• Strong communication skills demonstrated through team discussions and documentation.
• Problem-solving skills focused on delivering straightforward, efficient solutions using appropriate technologies and best engineering practices.
• Commitment to producing high-quality software deliverables, continuously improving code, documentation, and outcomes in each iteration, earning team trust.
• Experience in the media domain is beneficial but not necessary.
