We are seeking a Utility Worker to join our team at Parkland at the Common in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Primary Responsibilities
- Washing and sanitizing dishware using dish machines, kitchen aids, and sinks while following cleaning protocols
- Returning clean items to designated storage areas for Culinary Services staff
- Reporting any damaged equipment to management promptly
- Conducting equipment and refrigerator temperature checks at least three times daily
- Monitoring washing equipment temperatures to ensure effective sanitization
- Sweeping and mopping kitchen floors, disposing of garbage correctly, and cleaning garbage containers and areas
- Clearing tables in dining and catering spaces as needed
- Maintaining cleanliness standards in kitchen and kitchen aide work areas
Candidate Profile
- High School diploma or GED completion
- Availability for flexible scheduling including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to pass a clear Criminal Record Check before appointment
- CPR & Emergency First Aid certification and/or Basic Food Safety Training or Food Handler’s Certificate considered advantageous
- Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, equipment, and chemicals
- Previous experience working with seniors in Retirement Living or Long-Term Care environments is a plus
