About the Position
Shannex Incorporated invites compassionate, honest, professional, and safety-conscious individuals to pursue a career as a Housekeeper with our Arborstone Enhanced Care team located in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Responsibilities
- Clean thoroughly all shared spaces such as lobbies, corridors, and stairways.
- Perform sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitize kitchens and bathrooms.
- Collect and dispose of residents' refuse following established protocols.
- Document completion of routine housekeeping tasks accurately.
- Conduct audits and inspections as needed.
- Provide personal laundry services for residents upon request.
- Communicate supply requirements promptly to supervisory personnel.
- Use housekeeping supplies and equipment efficiently to maintain service quality.
- Restock and maintain housekeeping cart and report low inventory to supervisors.
- Promote a safety-first culture by adhering to safe work practices, reporting hazards, wearing protective gear, and supporting colleagues in safety.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- At least one year of experience in commercial housekeeping and/or laundry services.
- Strong dedication to completing housekeeping tasks efficiently with a warm, customer-service focus.
- Effective communication skills to interact courteously with internal team members and external clients.
- Knowledge of infection control and prevention standards.
- Competency operating cleaning machines such as auto scrubbers, floor buffers, and vacuums.
- Experience working with seniors or within senior living environments is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision safely handling chemical cleaning agents and equipment.
- Clear criminal record check required before hiring; vulnerable sector check may also be necessary.
- Completion of Dementia: Understanding the Journey course and valid First Aid & CPR certification are considered assets.
- Passion for supporting seniors through quality accommodation and care services.
