Job description
Position Overview
This role involves receiving and organizing merchandise accurately by department, preparing items for placement within the facility, and delivering them to the correct sections. The storekeeper will be responsible for stacking goods on pallets or carts, completing inventory requisition forms, and alerting supervisors promptly when stock levels are low. Proper handling and storage of perishables, including rotating stock and inspecting deliveries for quality and freshness, are key responsibilities. Damaged or incorrect deliveries must be refused. Adherence to food safety policies and sanitization protocols for refrigerators, freezers, equipment, and work areas is essential.
Key Duties
- Receive, stage, and correctly mark merchandise per department
- Stack items securely on pallets or carts
- Fill out inventory requisition paperwork
- Notify management regarding low stock levels timely
- Inspect delivered goods for freshness, quality, and correctness; reject unsuitable items
- Store perishables correctly and follow proper stock rotation methods
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of storage areas and relevant equipment
- Dispose of waste materials such as empty pallets and cardboard properly
- Comply with company safety, appearance, confidentiality, and behavior standards
- Report any accidents, unsafe conditions or injuries to management
- Engage professionally with guests and colleagues, fostering positive working relationships
- Follow quality assurance expectations and standards
- Perform physical tasks including lifting items up to 50 pounds, navigating confined spaces, and standing or walking during entire shifts
- Other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- No previous related or supervisory experience is required
- No special licenses or certifications are necessary
