Job description
Position Overview
The Chef de Partie will be responsible for preparing specialized dishes or suitable alternatives while controlling cooking appliance temperatures such as ovens, grills, and roasters. This role involves thawing frozen food safely, ensuring proper portioning, arranging, and garnishing dishes, tracking food preparation logs, and maintaining food quality and quantity standards. The incumbent will communicate required assistance during peak periods and inform the Chef about surplus ingredients for daily specials. Additionally, they will update Food & Beverage service staff on specials and any unavailable menu options, ensure the quality and presentation of dishes, and prepare cold food items as needed.
Additional Duties
Assist management in various human resource processes including recruitment, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, counseling, disciplining, motivation, and coaching. Act as a role model for team conduct and performance. Adhere strictly to all organizational safety and security protocols, reporting hazards, incidents, or maintenance issues promptly. Maintain a professional and clean personal and uniform appearance while protecting proprietary information and company assets. Anticipate and fulfill guest service needs, communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, foster positive workplace relationships, and collaborate to achieve shared objectives. Compliance with quality standards is essential.
Physical and Other Requirements
The role demands standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and physical movements including bending, twisting, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects up to 25 pounds independently. Other reasonable duties may be assigned by supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical, trade, or vocational school diploma.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant culinary experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
- No licenses or certifications mandatory.
