Role Overview

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer who combines deep technical expertise with AI awareness and a passion for ownership from initial concept through to production deployment. This role focuses on leading the development of AI Co-Workers—applied AI systems that automate decision-making and enhance team capabilities—as opposed to mere research or demos.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the complete technical design and deployment of AI Co-Workers.
• Convert practical business challenges into scalable AI and engineering solutions.
• Manage system architecture spanning models, orchestration, APIs, data pipelines, and integrations.
• Lead technical decisions involving large language models, model selection, prompt creation, evaluation, and ongoing monitoring.
• Mentor AI Engineers throughout development, testing, and release phases.
• Collaborate closely with Engagement Leads to ensure alignment between technical execution and value delivery.
• Maintain engineering standards covering performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.
• Proactively identify risks and develop pragmatic resolutions in uncertain conditions.
• Contribute hands-on to critical components to facilitate team progress.

Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated leadership in managing small to medium teams for product deployment.
• Robust software engineering foundation coupled with practical AI or ML experience.
• Hands-on familiarity with contemporary AI systems like large language models, learning algorithms, or intelligent automation.
• In-depth knowledge of backend workflows, APIs, data architecture, and production environments.
• Adept at evaluating trade-offs among accuracy, latency, cost efficiency, scalability, and delivery speed.
• Experience guiding and mentoring engineers through complex project builds.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical issues to non-technical audiences.
• A proactive mindset emphasizing ownership, continuous learning, and delivering functioning systems.
• Strong curiosity about the real-world performance of AI systems beyond theoretical scenarios.
