Role Overview

We seek a Fullstack Engineer with an emphasis on backend development to become part of our Sydney-based team. This position focuses primarily on backend systems while contributing to frontend functionalities, ensuring smooth client-server coordination. Collaborating closely with our R&D and product groups, you will craft modern, dynamic user interfaces and visualizations to enhance HEO Inspect, our proprietary NEI data and insights platform. Our experienced team will support your growth within this exciting domain.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement new functionalities for HEO Inspect, prioritizing speed, usability, and interactivity.
• Develop and maintain cloud-hosted backend services automating space operation workflows.
• Collaborate with R&D experts to transition novel algorithms into production-ready systems.
• Liaise with product, marketing, and analyst teams to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled across the web platform, API services, and custom integrations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum four years professional experience developing cloud-based web applications.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong critical and analytical thinking abilities, comfortable experimenting with new challenges.
• Proficiency in Python and/or object-oriented programming languages.
• Experienced in web development using RESTful APIs and Django framework.
• Hands-on experience building end-to-end systems including persistent storage solutions and deployment pipelines (CI/CD).
• Ability to self-manage, learn continuously, and independently make sound decisions.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with frontend technologies such as TypeScript and React.
• Knowledge of orbital mechanics, robotics, or image processing as advantageous.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud service providers.
• Understanding of AI tools and practices.
• Exposure to application performance monitoring and analytics.
