Senior Manager, Software Development

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and nurture multiple software development teams, mentoring team members and promoting a culture of ownership, learning, inclusivity, and collaboration.
• Manage recruitment, onboarding, and retention of top talent to maintain a robust engineering culture.
• Drive the architecture and design of complex distributed systems, overseeing code standards and maintaining a balance between immediate project needs and long-term technical health.
• Oversee project planning and execution following Agile/Scrum methodologies, ensuring alignment of team goals with business priorities and managing risks and dependencies.
• Improve engineering processes, foster continuous feedback and iteration, and ensure best practices in testing, monitoring, and deployment.
• Communicate technical challenges and updates clearly across organizational levels and liaise with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Promote innovation by staying updated on emerging technologies and encouraging experimentation, with added value from familiarity with AI/ML and LLM applications.

Technical Environment

• Technologies in use include React, Elasticsearch, Node.js, PHP, Python, MySQL, Flask, Docker, Databricks, AWS, Chef, and Terraform.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of software development experience, including at least 2 years in leadership or engineering management roles.
• Proven ability to lead teams through complex software projects with a focus on architecture and scalable infrastructure.
• Proficiency in modern engineering practices, cloud-native architectures, microservices, and iterative delivery within Agile frameworks.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills, with dedication to team growth and culture building.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with AI/ML and large language model-based technology integration is a plus.
• Exposure to large-scale, multi-tenant SaaS platforms and associated tooling.

Work Conditions

• Remote-first position based in India with flexible working arrangements.
• Collaboration with teams located across Canada, UK, and India, with core working hours from 11 AM to 7:30 PM IST to accommodate multiple time zones.
