About the Role

We are seeking a Production Planner based in Clarecastle, County Clare, Ireland. Reporting directly to the Head of Production, this role focuses on developing, maintaining, and optimizing the production schedule to fulfill customer delivery deadlines while maximizing manufacturing efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and manage production schedules through the ERP system aligning with customer demands and operational goals.
  • Balance and plan production workloads to improve capacity utilization, efficiency, and on-time completion.
  • Monitor the progress of production activities and adjust schedules proactively based on shifting priorities, resources, or machinery issues.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service to ensure production plans meet delivery commitments and communicate any schedule modifications.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Warehouse departments to guarantee material availability in support of the production plan.
  • Work alongside Quality and Incoming Inspection teams to prioritize and ensure timely access to critical production materials.
  • Track Work in Progress (WIP), identify bottlenecks or delays, and liaise with relevant teams to uphold scheduling adherence.
  • Oversee outsourced processing tasks, ensuring suppliers meet delivery timelines consistent with production requirements.
  • Evaluate production performance against schedules, highlighting risks, constraints, and recommending improvements to management.
  • Develop expert knowledge of the ERP system and utilize its data for efficient planning and decision-making.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in production planning, supply chain, or related operational roles, preferably within manufacturing settings.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with a proactive problem-solving attitude.
  • Excellent communication and ability to collaborate effectively across different teams.
  • Capability to perform well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment managing competing priorities.
  • Proficiency using ERP systems for production scheduling and planning.
