Job description
Role Overview
At Home Group, we are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Housing Concierge to provide overnight support at our Rosemead service in Southend-on-Sea, a supported housing environment for homeless ex-offenders. This role is vital in ensuring the safety and security of our residents with complex care needs throughout the night.
Key Duties
- Conduct regular patrols of the building, monitoring CCTV, fire exits, and communal areas to maintain a safe environment.
- Welcome residents and visitors, while addressing minor repairs and cleanliness.
- Serve as the primary support point for residents during night hours when other support or personal networks are unavailable.
- Respond promptly and fairly to any incidents, maintaining a calm demeanor.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to manage issues related to anti-social behavior.
Working Hours and Environment
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 pm to 4:30 am.
- Primarily lone working with regular daytime team meetings and training sessions.
- Use of technology such as CCTV monitoring, record keeping, and communication tools is essential.
- Enhanced DBS check required; Home Group will sponsor this check.
Candidate Requirements
- Ability to stay alert and composed during night shifts.
- Strong communication skills and sound judgement in challenging situations.
- Experience or passion for supporting vulnerable individuals in a professional or personal capacity.
- Confidence to identify and intervene sensitively in potential issues before they escalate.
