Role Overview

The Capacity Planner position, based at the Osborne Naval Shipyard in Adelaide, involves overseeing capacity planning within defined contractual and organizational frameworks to meet business goals effectively. The role collaborates closely with project teams to maintain balance in planning activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify the accuracy and relevance of capacity planning data, analyses, and reports, ensuring timely accessibility through planning systems.
• Assist in assessing facility capacity and schedules for strategic scenarios involving both internal and external customers.
• Monitor manufacturing processes related to capacity and demand, identifying bottlenecks and suggesting improvements or investments.
• Document and maintain distinctions in facility and build strategies across contracts and related assumptions.
• Contribute to the formulation of build strategies by delivering data-driven insights aimed at enhancing project schedules and cost management.
• Encourage continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the facility.
• Support lifecycle management processes by providing necessary capacity planning documentation for design and phase evaluations.

Candidate Profile

• Must be an Australian citizen eligible for and capable of maintaining Defence Security Clearance.
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in capacity planning or related scheduling and production planning roles, preferably in heavy engineering sectors or holding equivalent qualifications/trade experience.
• Understanding of engineering, supply chain, and operational processes.
• Knowledge of quality assurance and configuration control principles.
• Trade qualification or considerable hands-on experience in engineering or manufacturing settings.
