About the Role
BAE Systems Australia seeks experienced Project Controls Professionals to join their team. These roles are open at multiple levels and locations, including flexible and remote arrangements such as hybrid work and a 9-day fortnight schedule.
As a Project Controls Professional, you will utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) tools including Cobra, Primavera P6, and Oracle to assist Project Management in monitoring project costs, schedule performance, and risk. You will foster strong relationships with stakeholders and become an essential part of your project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing expert support to fellow Project Controls Professionals using tools like Primavera P6, Cobra, and Oracle.
- Contributing to creation and upkeep of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and their corresponding dictionaries.
- Assisting in setting up and maintaining approved Project Management Baselines (PMB) for cost and schedule.
- Managing and processing authorized baseline changes efficiently.
- Helping develop and maintain control account frameworks and Responsibility Assignment Matrices (RAM).
- Performing detailed planning activities, including rolling wave planning and crafting Control Account Plans (CAP).
- Supporting monthly reporting processes by collecting actuals, status updates, Estimates to Complete (ETC), and conducting comprehensive variance analysis aligned with business cycles.
- Assisting with Estimate at Completion (EAC) activities, providing subject matter expertise to Control Account Managers (CAMs) for data preparation and consolidation across programs.
- Supporting Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBR) and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) surveillance review processes as directed.
- Ensuring consistent and correct use of Earned Value Management standards, processes, and systems to enable timely, accurate project monitoring and reporting throughout execution.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience as a Project Controller or Cost Schedule Analyst is essential.
- Proficiency in cost management, specifically with COBRA tool usage.
- Experience in scheduling and planning utilizing Primavera P6.
- Candidates with combined expertise in both cost management and scheduling will be given priority.
- Strong understanding of Earned Value Management principles.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with both internal and external stakeholders to implement business requirements.
- Ability to work independently under time pressures, apply problem-solving skills, and make sound decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Possession of a current Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
