Job description
Position Overview
We are looking for a meticulous and team-oriented BIM/Digital Engineering Coordinator to support our growing operations. This role is vital for the effective application of Building Information Modelling (BIM) methods across projects, ensuring detailed, accurate 3D model development, integration of project data, and streamlined communication among various stakeholders. Success in this position requires proficiency with BIM tools, excellent organizational capabilities, and the ability to engage with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Duties
- Develop precise 3D BIM models and related deliverables that accurately translate the client’s design intentions while conforming to company standards and project-specific BIM protocols.
- Produce plans, sectional drawings, elevations, three-dimensional isometric views, and compile schedules to facilitate coordination, assembly, and record-keeping.
- Work collaboratively with managers, engineers, and contractors to keep BIM models updated and reflective of accurate project design and data.
- Coordinate busbar system details within integrated BIM models to detect and resolve design and construction conflicts.
- Oversee BIM processes and workflows to maintain uniformity, high quality, and strict adherence to predefined standards.
- Create and manage reusable BIM content such as templates, libraries, and model families to optimize modeling efficiency.
- Conduct clash detection and produce reports to aid project teams in timely issue resolution.
- Extract accurate quantities and relevant information from BIM models to support cost estimation, project scheduling, and other planning activities.
- Engage with BIM and project managers to ensure alignment of deliverables with project schedules and goals.
- Offer ongoing training and assistance to team members regarding BIM software usage and standards compliance.
- Keep abreast of new developments, industry trends, and best practices in BIM methodologies and software tools.
- Participate actively in coordination meetings and maintain clear communication channels to foster team collaboration.
Qualifications and Skills
- Relevant academic qualification or equivalent practical experience in Revit, 3D CAD, or related fields.
- Minimum of one year’s hands-on experience in BIM coordination, proficient in BIM management tools such as ACC/Forma.
- Highly skilled in BIM software including Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, or comparable platforms.
- Thorough understanding of BIM standards, protocols, specifically ISO19650.
- Familiarity with busbar systems is advantageous, though not mandatory, as training on products and BIM libraries will be provided.
- Detail-focused with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of construction and design practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse project groups.
- Experienced in clash identification and resolution procedures.
- Competent in extracting quantities and managing data from BIM models.
