About the Role
At Hot Topic, we celebrate our passion for music, pop culture, and delivering an exceptional in-store experience for both customers and employees. We are looking for a Store Manager who will lead by example, driving the store to meet sales goals, fostering team growth, and ensuring superior customer service in a dynamic mall environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the store to meet or exceed sales objectives and comparable store sales targets.
- Recruit, develop, and retain an enthusiastic, collaborative team to support store operations.
- Engage customers and create buzz by leveraging social media, store apps, and personalized client interactions.
- Manage store operations with a focus on organizational structure, delegation, autonomy, and customer-first sales strategies.
- Monitor shrinkage and loss prevention, manage payroll hours and staff schedules, and adapt to external factors influencing business.
- Communicate effectively with retail leadership and headquarters regarding market trends and customer feedback.
- Analyze sales data and reports to steer store strategies toward achieving sales targets.
- Implement new technologies, uphold company policies, and control inventory spending prudently.
- Ensure compelling merchandising by following planograms and timely launching promotions.
- Mentor and develop staff through feedback, recognition, and continuous talent-building initiatives.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 1 to 2 years of experience managing retail stores with successful team leadership.
- High school diploma or GED required; further education is a plus.
- Adaptability to the fast-paced and ever-changing retail industry.
- Interest and open-mindedness toward pop culture fandoms and music trends.
- Physical capability to navigate the store, operate merchandising equipment, and handle merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.
