Job Overview
Join JPMorganChase's Commercial & Investment Bank Identity Engineering team as a Software Engineer III focusing on Java. In this role, you will contribute to building secure, state-of-the-art technology that safeguards millions of users and institutions globally by designing and modernizing authentication and access management platforms. You will collaborate with global tech teams to create scalable, high-quality security solutions at the intersection of innovation and customer experience within a firm managing trillions in assets worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement robust authentication and authorization systems across customer and enterprise channels.
- Upgrade identity and access management frameworks aligning with modern open standards.
- Assess and prototype both internal and vendor authentication solutions, including biometric and fraud prevention features.
- Integrate APIs and SDKs for niche authentication technologies and standards such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and SAML.
- Partner with globally dispersed engineering teams to deliver secure and value-driven software products.
- Enhance software development lifecycle efficiency applying rigorous engineering and coding practices.
- Set and uphold technical excellence through design, development, and testing leadership.
- Employ enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools responsibly to boost code quality, productivity, and delivery speed, validating outputs thoroughly.
- Leverage software development lifecycle tools, including AI-assisted automation, to maximize development value.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Formal education or certification in software engineering coupled with practical experience.
- Strong command of general programming languages, notably Java.
- Knowledge of application and data architecture principles, design patterns, and business process integration.
- Exposure to cloud-native development environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Ability to effectively partner across local and international teams.
- Adaptability to work across diverse technology stacks and environments.
- Experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools, with critical evaluation capabilities of AI-generated work.
- Understanding of ethical AI use, including data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, and adherence to security and resiliency standards.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with authentication standards such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML, or federated identity management.
- Experience incorporating anti-fraud or biometric authentication in customer-facing applications.
- Work history in regulated financial services or complex enterprise settings.
- Knowledge of identity and access management platforms or vendor tools.
- Understanding of API security best practices and effective SDK integration methods.
