Software Development Manager III - Selling Partner Services Technology

The Seller Partner Services Technology team in India focuses on building an extensive suite of products designed to support selling partners across India and multiple marketplaces. Our team develops cutting-edge technology involving complex algorithms, innovative tools catering to multi-party business situations, and rapidly evolving data models.

Our systems are integral to every interaction a selling partner has with Amazon, impacting all sales on the marketplace directly, which requires building scalable, highly available distributed systems. Apart from technology, this role offers opportunities to gain domain expertise in applying machine learning for selection improvements and experience Amazon operations by collaborating with global internal and external partners and seasoned senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a passionate engineering team including Software Development Engineers and Quality Assurance professionals focused on enhancing seller experience and trust.
• Collaborate effectively with business and technical teams to design and document requirements, develop technical strategies, and create software roadmaps for feature delivery.
• Architect, develop, and innovate large scale distributed systems and provide technology direction aligned with business strategy.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum three years of experience managing engineering teams.
• At least seven years of overall engineering experience.
• Over eight years of experience leading the design and development of multi-tier web services.
• Strong knowledge of engineering best practices across the full software/hardware/network development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control, building processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven ability to communicate with users, technical teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements, explain product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and managing software engineering teams to enhance their capabilities and productivity.
