Job description
Job Overview
The Sixth Form Study Supervisor role involves overseeing and maintaining a conducive academic environment for senior pupils during their study periods and examinations within the school sixth form area.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise senior students during study sessions and examinations to ensure a quiet and focused environment.
- Advise on and support improvements to the study environment.
- Communicate with teaching staff regarding pupil behaviour and attendance, including reporting unauthorized absences or damages.
- Manage administrative tasks such as operating manual and digital pupil information systems, completing returns and records, and maintaining stock of reference materials.
- Assist with general school administration duties as necessary.
- Participate in relevant training and implement all school policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties aligned with the post's level as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of at least five GCSEs at grades A* to C, including English Language and Mathematics or equivalent/higher qualifications.
- Demonstrable prior experience working with post-primary age children in formal settings to facilitate positive educational outcomes.
Knowledge and Skills
- Understanding of the responsibilities associated with the Sixth Form Study Supervisor position.
- Familiarity with general administrative processes and record-keeping.
- Competence with computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Effective organisational and planning capabilities, with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
Desirable Attributes
- Experience within a post-primary school environment is advantageous.
