Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to join our client, a government entity, based onsite in Sharjah. This full-time role requires designing, developing, and maintaining robust Java backend applications in collaboration with an interdisciplinary development team to deliver cutting-edge software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with development peers, product managers, and stakeholders to conceptualize and implement software features.
• Liaise with clients and external vendors to clarify and align on technical requirement specifications.
• Create scalable, high-performance backend systems.
• Develop and sustain structurally sound databases and applications.
• Design, develop, and maintain secure and efficient APIs.
• Incorporate strong security protocols and ensure data protection within software solutions.
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable code adhering to best industry practices.
• Conduct rigorous testing to ensure software responsiveness and functionality.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve software defects promptly.
• Document technical details and processes comprehensively.
• Stay informed on emerging technologies and best practices to continually enhance backend architectures.

Candidate Profile

• Possesses a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Has over 5 years' experience in software engineering roles.
• Strong foundation in software engineering principles, algorithms, data structures, OOP, design patterns, software architecture, database design, and UML.
• Hands-on experience with Java, particularly Spring Boot framework, along with Oracle databases.
• Skilled in developing and consuming web services (SOAP and REST).
• Experience implementing API security using JWT, Spring Security, and OAuth2.
• Understanding of data encryption and security algorithms such as RSA and AES is advantageous.
• Familiarity with application servers including Oracle WebLogic and Apache Tomcat.
• Knowledge of Oracle Fusion Middleware components like OSB, BPM, and UCM is beneficial.
• Good grasp of SOA and microservices-based architecture principles.

Location and Commitment

This opportunity is based in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, requiring full-time commitment for the long term. Arabic language skills are preferred.
