Role Overview

As an Intermediate Java Software Engineer, you will join a cross-functional team responsible for developing robust, maintainable software tailored to client specifications. You'll enhance your technical expertise and support continuous improvement initiatives while taking ownership of significant project tasks. The role involves programming primarily in Java along with frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, JUnit, and Hibernate. You are expected to adhere to best engineering practices and may also contribute to front-end development when necessary. Additionally, producing clear documentation to facilitate an optimal user experience is integral to the position.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements

• Work effectively within Scrum teams and Agile environments.
• Apply strong knowledge of software engineering principles, emphasizing SOLID design patterns.
• Implement Test-Driven Development (TDD), including writing and maintaining unit and integration tests to ensure high code quality and support continuous integration and delivery.
• Handle distributed messaging systems, having some experience with Apache Kafka for real-time data processing.
• Develop RESTful APIs to meet application requirements.
• Utilize SQL proficiently, with preferred exposure to stored procedures and database indexing.
• Adopt DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Packer, and Docker for deployment automation and configuration management.
• Experience with container technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift is essential.
• Familiarity with deploying solutions on cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, including serverless functions and cloud computing resources, is advantageous.
• Front-end development skills are desirable.
• Experience in Financial Services or Capital Markets with knowledge of the FIX protocol is a plus.
• Coordinate effectively with stakeholders to ensure clear communication and project alignment.
