Key Responsibilities
- Analyze electrical drawings and specifications to generate precise cost estimations involving materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
- Ensure compliance with bid depository regulations while preparing bids.
- Use Accubid software for cost estimation and project cost control monitoring.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to collect detailed information for estimates.
- Investigate and report cost discrepancies for management review.
- Participate actively in bid and proposal meetings, presenting estimates and addressing client queries.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on industry trends, electrical trade standards, and best practices.
- Support team objectives by performing related estimation and project tasks as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience in electrical estimation within the heavy industrial construction sector, focusing on large-scale projects such as distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, or data centers.
- Experience estimating projects around $50 million in value.
- Proficient in Accubid and other standard estimation software tools.
- Thorough understanding of electrical trade scopes and bid depository regulations.
- Strong capability to interpret complex electrical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
- Self-driven with strong attention to detail, able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
