About Wynn Al Marjan Island
Wynn Al Marjan Island will be the UAE's first integrated resort, scheduled to open in 2027. Situated 50 miles from Dubai International Airport in Ras Al Khaimah, the resort will feature 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 dining venues including restaurants, lounges, and bars, a theatre, beach club, multiple pools, water features, a luxury spa and salon, a shopping promenade, plus a celebrations and events center.
Role Overview
The Senior Data Engineer will join the IT Systems Architecture, Design & Development team, responsible for architecting and enhancing data pipelines and platforms to support business analytics and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and fine-tune ETL/ELT pipelines utilizing SQL, Python, Snowflake, and Airflow.
- Develop scalable data ingestion workflows including batch, incremental, real-time, and Change Data Capture (CDC) methods.
- Construct and maintain data warehouses and dimensional models tailored for reporting and analytics purposes.
- Create, manage, and optimize Airflow Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs) for efficient workflow orchestration, scheduling, and monitoring.
- Optimize Snowflake environments focusing on data modeling, query performance, and data loading efficiency.
- Translate complex business requirements into robust, reliable data engineering solutions.
- Drive enhancements in data platform's performance, scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation and collaborate with analytics teams to provide premium quality data assets.
Candidate Profile
- 5 to 7 years of practical data engineering experience including ETL/ELT pipeline development and automation with SQL and Python.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing data warehouses, dimensional models, and data structures optimized for analytics.
- In-depth understanding of batch processing, incremental updates, CDC strategies, and handling of both structured and semi-structured data.
- Advanced proficiency in Snowflake encompassing data modeling, data ingestion, query tuning, security, and overall warehouse management.
- Hands-on experience in Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration, including DAG creation, scheduling, monitoring, and dependency handling.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline; certifications such as SnowPro Core, Databricks Data Engineer Professional, or Azure Data Engineer Associate are advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills in English, capable of designing, implementing, and supporting scalable data solutions within an office environment.
