About the Role
Join PPG's team in Townsville as a Sales Assistant and Storeperson, combining warehousing duties with opportunities to learn paint tinting and colour matching. This role includes preparing customer orders, managing inventory, supporting branch operations, and gaining ongoing professional training.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick, pack, and process customer orders according to schedule
- Unload and load deliveries safely
- Operate a forklift following safety protocols
- Maintain warehouse safety by adhering to company Environmental Health and Safety standards
- Assist with stock management and ensuring inventory accuracy
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts for safer and more efficient workflows
- Provide customer service at the trade counter and respond to inquiries
- Collaborate closely with the branch team to support daily functions
- Keep warehouse and store areas clean, organized, and safe
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in warehousing or a related environment
- Competent with computers; familiarity with SAP highly desirable
- Experience working in trade desks or similar settings advantageous
- Strong attention to detail with ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Customer-focused with excellent service skills
- Enthusiastic about learning new skills such as paint tinting and colour matching
- Team-oriented and cooperative
- Physically capable of manual handling and standing during shifts
- Possession of a current driver’s licence
- Hold or willing to obtain a forklift licence
