Program Manager - Data Center Market Development

About the Role

This opportunity allows candidates to select their work location from Mumbai, Maharashtra or Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. As a Program Manager at Google, you will oversee multifaceted and cross-disciplinary initiatives from initiation through completion. Your role involves coordinating requirements, managing timelines, anticipating risks, and facilitating communication among diverse internal teams and external partners across regions and departments. You will be integral to the Data Center team, which operates advanced electrical and HVAC infrastructures across global facilities, fostering a collaborative and innovative engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle confidential projects attentively with respect to their strategic value and timelines while contributing to comprehensive project planning.
• Act as a commercial intermediary between vendors and internal teams, aiding in crafting regional or market segment strategies targeting sustainable infrastructure growth and influencing partner strategies at an executive level.
• Work collaboratively with multifunctional groups such as tax, finance, legal, policy, and communications on diverse economic development-related issues.
• Offer targeted business advisory assistance on economic development contracts, providing commercial evaluations including tax considerations and infrastructure financing tailored to regional specifics.

Candidate Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree or comparable practical experience.
• At least five years of experience in leading negotiation or business development efforts.
• Minimum five years working with diverse stakeholders, including government bodies within India.
• Five years’ experience dealing with economic development matters like direct/indirect tax, tax policy, or infrastructure projects.

Preferred Expertise

• Background in data center site selection or industrial strategy specific to India.
• Knowledge of power transmission & distribution, telecom infrastructure, advanced data center technologies, electrical and cooling systems.
• Experience managing collocation agreements, industrial-scale site selection, real estate analysis and development, utility agreements, clean energy implementation, and financial modeling.
• Familiarity with Indian real estate markets and infrastructure establishment.
• Insight into economic development policies relating to infrastructure deals in India.
