Job description
Role Overview
Join JLL Work Place Management as a Plumber providing comprehensive plumbing services across commercial properties in London. The position involves installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems while ensuring minimal disruption to building operations and delivering excellent client support.
Primary Duties
- Maintain and repair hot/cold water supply, drainage systems, and sanitary installations in multiple commercial buildings.
- Install, service, and replace plumbing fixtures such as toilets, sinks, taps, and urinals.
- Conduct routine inspections of piping, joints, and fittings to prevent critical failures.
- Respond swiftly to plumbing emergencies including burst pipes, blocked drains, and leaks, diagnosing complex issues with diagnostic tools.
- Perform timely repairs to reduce water damage and restore building functions.
- Install new plumbing systems during tenant fit-outs and renovation projects.
- Upgrade existing plumbing infrastructure for efficiency and standards compliance.
- Collaborate with other trade teams during construction to ensure proper plumbing integration.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all work meets building codes, health and safety regulations, and JLL quality standards.
- Maintain detailed records of work done, materials used, and system statuses for warranty and future maintenance.
Client Engagement
- Communicate professionally with clients, facility managers, and occupants about plumbing issues and maintenance schedules.
- Explain required work and expected completion times clearly.
- Keep work areas tidy and safe to minimize operational disruptions.
Qualifications & Skills
- NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing and Heating or equivalent; City & Guilds certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in commercial plumbing.
- Valid UK driving license, current CSCS card, and health and safety certifications.
- Familiarity with commercial plumbing systems, water regulations, backflow prevention.
- Experience using CMMS software and digital work order platforms.
- Strong diagnostics and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work independently and prioritize across multiple sites.
- Physically capable of working in confined spaces, at heights, and lifting up to 25kg.
- Flexibility to participate in emergency call-out rotation and work outside regular hours as needed.
