Overview
Join a dedicated and client-focused team at APM New Zealand where your clinical expertise will make a significant difference. We seek a committed and highly skilled Physiotherapist to work in Wellington within a supportive and dynamic environment.
Role Responsibilities
- Conduct vocational rehabilitation activities including workplace assessments, graduated return-to-work planning, and detailed task analysis.
- Provide community rehabilitation support by collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to help clients achieve their rehabilitation goals.
- Assess and treat concussion and mild to moderate traumatic brain injuries, including cervical spine, vestibular, and oculomotor systems, working alongside GPs and specialists.
- Deliver individual community rehabilitation programs focused on improving independence and functionality.
- Support clients with persistent pain using interdisciplinary methods, employing behavior change techniques, pacing strategies, and self-management education rooted in the biopsychosocial model.
- Perform functional needs assessments, prepare comprehensive reports, and ensure clients access appropriate ACC services and supports.
- Provide musculoskeletal, neurological, and vestibular rehabilitation, including home, gym, and community-based programs, with thorough movement assessment and progression of strength and mobility.
- Deliver client-centered care in various settings including homes, workplaces, and community environments.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum two years' experience in vocational and community rehabilitation.
- Strong clinical reasoning skills with adaptability to diverse client needs.
- Experience in inter-disciplinary teamwork and collaborative practice.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with clients, families, and stakeholders.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
