Role Overview

The Payroll Coordinator will serve as the primary contact for approximately 2,000 Canadian employees and be responsible for processing the firm’s payroll end-to-end in an accurate and timely manner. This includes managing payroll case activities, completing gross to net pay calculations, ensuring payroll balances, resolving payroll queries with stakeholders such as Talent, Legal, and Benefits teams, handling payroll deductions and remittance submissions, and year-end payroll activities.

Team and Work Environment

This position is part of an eight-person administration team responsible for national payroll processing and related client services within Deloitte. The role requires close collaboration across multiple business units and timely delivery of payroll data entry and reporting. The work model is hybrid with multiple office locations across Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle payroll processing for the firm’s Canadian employees promptly and accurately
  • Conduct payroll case management and resolve issues involving multiple stakeholders
  • Calculate gross to net pay and ensure payroll accounts are balanced
  • Prepare and process payroll deductions and remittances as mandated
  • Coordinate year-end payroll activities

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a large, multi-jurisdictional payroll environment
  • Strong written and oral communication abilities
  • Completion or progress towards Canadian Payroll Association Certification
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is an advantage due to interaction with national and global clients
  • Experience with PeopleSoft payroll system is considered highly beneficial

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position spans from $47,000 to $78,000 annually, with eligibility for performance bonuses. Deloitte offers competitive compensation and benefits including $4,000 annually toward mental health support, a flexible benefit spending account of $1,300, additional paid days off such as "Deloitte Days," dedicated learning days, and flexible work arrangements with hybrid options.
