Role Overview

The Payroll Coordinator serves as the primary contact for approximately 2,000 Canadian-based employees. This permanent role contributes to the smooth and accurate processing of payroll within a large, multi-jurisdictional payroll framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Handle all payroll case management tasks effectively.
  • Perform detailed gross-to-net pay calculations alongside payroll reconciliation.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve payroll discrepancies collaborating with stakeholders such as Talent, Legal, and Benefits providers.
  • Prepare and submit statutory payroll deductions and remittances as mandated.
  • Execute year-end payroll activities and reporting.

Team Environment

This role is part of an eight-member administration team responsible for Deloitte's national payroll operations. The coordinator supports payroll processes and client service functions, including data management and reporting across various business lines.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant possesses:

  • At least three years of experience managing payroll in a large, multi-jurisdictional environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Canadian Payroll Association certification or currently pursuing it.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Additional preferences include:

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is advantageous due to interactions with national and global clients.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft payroll systems is highly regarded.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $47,000 to $78,000 annually, with eligibility to participate in Deloitte's bonus program.
