Job description

Role Overview

The Regional Partner PTM is tasked with enhancing the technical skills of partners within their region, enabling them to effectively position, sell, and deploy Splunk and Cisco solutions. This role focuses on the development of partner solutions, capabilities, and practices aligned to key Splunk and Cisco use cases to create differentiated, repeatable offerings for customers.

Working closely with Partner Sales Managers and Partner Development Managers, this position shares accountability for driving partner growth and success. The main objective is to foster partner-led technical competencies that translate into tangible business results such as revenue growth, service expansion, and customer retention.

Partner Intelligence and Planning

Key responsibilities include consistently developing and updating Partner Intelligence documents like Technical Scorecards and Plans that serve as the authoritative resource for each partner. These documents go beyond simple tracking by detailing business impact, solution maturity, and growth trajectory, covering areas such as:

  • Partner skill and capability aligned to prioritized use cases
  • Solutions and propositions developed in line with Splunk and Cisco architectures and go-to-market (GTM) strategies
  • Practice maturity reflecting ability to deliver, monetize, and scale services
  • Program alignment including tiering and specializations
  • Key opportunities and customers linked to partner-developed solutions
  • Stakeholders and technical champions within partner organizations
  • Certification and accreditation progress as enabling factors

The Partner Intelligence must also include a clear, outcome-driven development plan owned jointly with PDM and PSM, outlining target solutions, required capabilities, and expected business outcomes.

Core Responsibilities

Solution, Capability & Practice Development:

  • Lead development of partner solutions and capabilities aligned with Splunk and Cisco priorities.
  • Assess partner market positioning and customers to identify valuable use cases and business results.
  • Collaborate with partners to design solutions addressing customer challenges in security, observability, and platform domains.
  • Support partners in creating repeatable and scalable market offerings and billable services.
  • Ensure alignment with Splunk and Cisco architectures, data strategies, and AI capabilities.
  • Drive industrialization of partner offerings from one-offs to repeatable GTM approaches.
  • Coordinate with PSMs and PDMs to align solutions with regional priorities and revenue targets.

Technical Leadership & Enablement:

  • Manage competency development plans for all partners in the region.
  • Deliver technical training, coaching, and workshops across all Splunk domains focused on Tier Upgrades.
  • Collaborate with enablement teams for consistent content and best practices.
  • Validate partner-designed solutions and conduct architecture reviews.
  • Provide guidance during late-stage customer pursuits.
  • Plan and monitor badge and certification progress per partner plans.
  • Regularly report progress on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.

Community Building:

  • Establish and nurture a regional partner technical community.
  • Organize enablement sessions, workshops, roundtables, and forums.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and solution showcases between partners.
  • Identify and develop partner technical champions.
  • Maintain communication aligned with partner needs and Splunk GTM priorities.
  • Leverage the community to enhance capability and adoption of repeatable solutions.

Opportunity Support & Acceleration:

  • Identify and advance partner-shaped opportunities in security, observability, and platform segments.
  • Lead technical discovery to enhance opportunity qualification and speed value delivery.
  • Collaborate with enablement teams for program oversight and ROI metrics.
  • Coach partner pre-sales on architecture, proposals, and proof of concepts.
  • Track opportunity progression and resolve technical obstacles promptly.
  • Align with Partner Account Managers on sales pipeline and execution.
  • Ensure adherence to Splunk frameworks and best practices in partner deals.
  • Contribute to the pipeline through capability and solution maturity.

Internal Alignment & Joint Planning:

  • Create and maintain Partner Intelligence documents and plans in close coordination with PDMs.
  • Act as technical liaison between internal teams and partner technical contacts.
  • Ensure consistency with Splunk and Cisco GTM messaging and architectural guidance.

Success Indicators

  • Growth in revenue and service attachment driven by partner-developed solutions.
  • Wider adoption of partner-built solutions across targeted customer segments.
  • Measurable improvements in customer retention and expansion through partner engagements.
  • Enhancement of technical qualifications and accelerated deal closures.
  • Expansion and activation of a solution-focused partner technical community.
  • Increase in sharing and implementation of best practices and solutions.
  • Greater partner autonomy and capability in scaling solutions.
  • Development and market introduction of repeatable partner solutions.
  • Growth in partner practices capable of delivering and monetizing services.
  • Adoption of Cisco and Splunk architectures within partner offerings.
  • Consistent use of frameworks and governance aligning with regional priorities.
  • High-quality documentation, reporting, and outcome-driven partner plans.

Additional Information

  • Work hours: Approximately 48 hours per week.
