Role Overview
We are seeking experienced Panel Wirers to join our dedicated team in Burnfoot, County Donegal. This role involves hands-on work assembling, wiring, and maintaining low and medium voltage switchgear and control panels. Reporting to the Production Manager and Supervisors, you will interpret engineering drawings and production schedules to build precise, safety-critical equipment.
Key Duties
- Assemble electrical switchgear and electromechanical equipment strictly according to technical drawings and production timelines.
- Maintain high-quality standards both in-house and on customer sites.
- Interpret and follow schematics, manuals, and engineering diagrams accurately for assembly tasks.
- Fit, build, and integrate various components to ensure smooth assembly of parts.
- Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance, including site modifications and thermal imaging inspections.
- Conduct thorough testing of panels, including current injection tests.
- Mentor and support team members through sharing expertise and best practices.
- Identify and report defective, malfunctioning, or substandard parts promptly.
- Select, measure, and adjust components to guarantee correct fitting.
- Manage material take-offs (MTOs) and order supplies for assigned tasks, both internally and for site work.
- Collaborate on assembling prototype and development units with supervisory staff.
- Carry out thermal imaging inspections and prepare detailed reports.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated experience in electrical panel wiring and assembly.
- Strong ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams accurately.
- Skilled in establishing correct electrical connections and troubleshooting wiring issues.
- Experience assembling mechanical and electromechanical systems.
- Previous exposure to field service work and on-site installations is desirable.
Preferred Attributes
- Knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Experience in manufacturing LV/MV switchgear.
- Familiarity with Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
