Overview
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to service and maintain automated parcel and letter sorting machinery for NZ Post in Christchurch. This role involves ensuring equipment operates optimally through regular maintenance and prompt fault resolution, contributing significantly to operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and corrective maintenance on advanced parcel processing systems.
- Conduct fault finding and troubleshooting to minimize machine downtime.
- Support the continuous operational needs of parcel and mail sorting machinery.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will have a background as a maintenance engineer, fitter, or electrician with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults calmly under pressure. Flexibility, a positive mindset, and dedication to contributing to customer satisfaction are essential.
Qualifications and Experience
- Electrical registration in New Zealand or Electrical Service Technician Registration (papers A & B) OR Mechanical Engineering qualification.
- At least 2 years’ experience as an electrical or mechanical technician.
- Experience with control systems or programming is advantageous.
- Familiarity with automation technology is beneficial.
Work Hours
Technicians will work a rotating four-week roster that includes day, afternoon, night shifts, and one weekend shift. Rosters will be communicated in advance once finalized.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $90,000 NZD.
