- Ensure issuance of operational notifications and adhere to contractual timelines, including cargo nominations and estimated vessel arrivals, accurately and punctually.
- Supervise shipping procedures for chartered vessels and liaise with terminals, counterparties, ship agents, inspectors, and other relevant service providers.
- Verify that all necessary financial guarantees, documentation, and operational preconditions are fulfilled before cargo execution.
- Calculate and negotiate time-related charges such as laytime, demurrage, boil-off, and gas consumption claims, verifying that operational expenses and risks are correctly recorded and recovered.
- Assist in negotiating and reviewing operational clauses in term and spot LNG contracts, including Sale and Purchase Agreements (SPAs), Master Service Agreements (MSAs), and charter-party contracts.
- Serve as the primary operational liaison between traders and internal departments including chartering, risk management, legal, and finance.
- Maintain precise records of deals, pricing details, and shipment data within designated trading and operational systems.
- Ensure comprehensive archival of operational documentation to safeguard the organisation’s contractual, legal, and financial interests.
- Establish and foster effective relationships with internal teams, counterparties, and service providers to facilitate seamless cargo operations.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- A minimum of five years’ professional experience within oil & gas, energy trading, or commodities sectors.
- Preferably at least two years of direct experience independently managing LNG cargo operations.
- Strong knowledge of the LNG cargo lifecycle and key commercial agreements such as SPAs, MSAs, and charter-party terms.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills for reviewing schedules, operational expenses, and cargo-related claims.
- Proficiency in using spreadsheets and familiarity with trade support or commodity management systems.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities, capable of coordinating multiple internal and external stakeholders confidently.
- Detail-focused with the capacity to juggle various time-critical cargo operations in a dynamic trading environment.
- Collaborative and reliable, showing ownership in driving operational activities through to completion.
