Opportunity Overview

The Lead Engineer - Project Manager role is a full-time, onsite position located in Bengaluru with shift timings from 10 AM to 7 PM. CGI offers competitive compensation with opportunities for professional growth, paid time off from day one, profit sharing, and stock purchase plans.

Role and Responsibilities

• Define project objectives, scope, and deliverables aligned with business goals in coordination with client project managers and stakeholders.
• Create detailed project schedules and communication plans, utilizing tools such as Microsoft Project (MPP).
• Communicate expectations clearly and promptly to teams and all stakeholders.
• Maintain ongoing liaison with project stakeholders.
• Estimate necessary resources and participants to meet project objectives.
• Prepare budget proposals and suggest adjustments as needed.
• Establish and manage project expectations continuously with team members and stakeholders.
• Identify project dependencies and determine critical paths.
• Plan and organize timelines and milestones employing appropriate project management tools.
• Monitor milestones and deliverable completion accurately.
• Produce and present progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
• Assess status reports' effectiveness, diagnose issues, and resolve problems proactively.
• Manage scope changes proactively, foresee potential challenges, and develop contingency plans.
• Define success criteria for projects and communicate these throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coach, mentor, motivate, and guide project team members to take responsibility and deliver quality work.
• Cultivate and maintain essential business relationships critical for project success.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and technology currency assessments before work initiation.
• Oversee compliance with quality and security processes, including DevOps gates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, IT, or related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• 13 to 15 years of total professional experience including demonstrated IT project management expertise.
• Strong command of both waterfall and agile project methodologies.
• Capability to manage multiple concurrent projects (typically 2–3 projects).
• Technical understanding or experience in software development and web technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal client-facing communication skills.
• Well-developed organizational, multitasking, and attention to detail capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with shared resource model and handling multi-project environments is advantageous.
• PMP certification preferred but not mandatory.
