About the Role

Join the Civil team at Downer to help maintain and support vital Sydney motorway and tunnel infrastructure including North Connex, Lane Cove Tunnel, and the M2 network. As a Labourer, you will be responsible for performing maintenance duties such as vegetation control, sign replacement, road furniture inspections, pothole repairs, truck driving, and graffiti removal. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and smooth functioning of essential transport assets operating 24/7.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance activities along road corridors and tunnels, including vegetation management and pothole repairs.
• Replace signs and inspect road furniture to maintain compliance and safety standards.
• Assist with graffiti removal and other general upkeep tasks within motorway and tunnel environments.
• Operate trucks as needed to support maintenance and logistical needs.
• Work primarily during day shifts with some night shifts as required to ensure continuous operations.

Candidate Requirements

• Possession or ability to obtain a Medium Rigid (MR) driver licence and NSW Implement Traffic Control Plans (ITCP) accreditation.
• Hold a General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Experience or exposure to roadside maintenance, civil construction, or landscaping is preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and adherence to procedures.
• Strong focus on safety, with active participation in zero harm initiatives.
• Positive attitude with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
