Role Overview

Our Dunedin team requires skilled Surfacing Workers to contribute to various paving initiatives, ranging from small maintenance repairs to larger subdivision and state highway resurfacing projects. This position includes the preparation, application, and finishing of asphalt surfaces using diverse asphalt mixtures. Duties encompass manual labor and operation of machinery such as trucks, pavers, skid steers, rollers, and various hand tools.

Key Skills Required

• Possession of a full New Zealand Class 1 driver’s license
• Prior experience with asphalt work is advantageous
• Physical capability for strenuous tasks including shoveling, digging, lifting, extended standing and walking
• Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and occasional travel throughout Otago, Central Lakes, and Southland
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Confidence in public interaction and communication
