Job description
Overview
We are looking to hire a skilled Kubernetes Administrator to provide vital platform support for a key client. This role demands expertise in Kubernetes management, DevOps techniques, and big data technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining system stability through efficient troubleshooting and will also engage in direct communication with clients to ensure smooth resolution of infrastructure issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Quickly diagnose and resolve platform-related problems to ensure high reliability and performance.
- Manage incident tickets systematically, including their creation, tracking, and closure.
- Communicate effectively with client teams regarding issues, progress updates, and solutions.
- Oversee containerization with Docker: create images, manage Docker Quay registry, and orchestrate Kubernetes components such as network policies, ingress and egress rules, secrets, and configMaps.
- Deploy and maintain applications using Helm charts.
- Administer Python environments by setting up virtual environments for workload execution.
- Work with big data technologies like Spark, Airflow, Hive, and HDFS, including managing resource queue limits.
- Handle networking aspects including administration of DNS entries (static and dynamic), proxy configurations, and environment variables.
- Maintain security protocols including SSL certificates, access permissions, and Postgres database user privileges.
- Manage object storage services compatible with S3, such as Dell ECS.
- Implement and optimize DevOps processes using GitLab pipelines and workflows.
- Ensure system services and daemons are operating correctly and address any disruptions promptly.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in Kubernetes administration, container orchestration, and management.
- Comprehensive understanding of networking principles related to DNS, proxy settings, and ingress/egress configuration.
- Hands-on knowledge in big data platforms and workload management strategies.
- Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation tools.
- Experienced with Python virtual environments and dependency management.
- Understanding of SSL management, secret handling, and configuration in platform environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to engage with clients and support collaborative problem resolution.
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
Additional Experience
- Experience with object storage systems such as Dell ECS or other S3-compatible solutions.
- Knowledge in customizing Helm charts and integrating them into CI/CD environments.
- Prior exposure to enterprise-level infrastructure management with complex deployment scenarios.
