Role Overview
The Cloudera Administrator will oversee and sustain the systems and infrastructure that underpin the organization's data management and analytics platforms. This position ensures the stability, security, and efficient operation of the Cloudera environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, configure, and maintain various components of the Cloudera platform.
- Continuously monitor platform performance, identify and resolve issues promptly.
- Deploy security protocols to safeguard the platform and maintain compliance with relevant standards.
- Oversee storage and data backup solutions linked to the platform.
- Ensure platform resilience, availability, and capability for disaster recovery.
- Create automation scripts and workflows to minimize manual tasks and enhance operational efficiency.
- Administer network infrastructure, monitoring, and logging systems associated with the platform.
- Work collaboratively with development and operations teams to align platform functionality with organizational goals.
- Stay updated on technology trends, assessing and integrating enhancements to boost performance and scalability.
- Develop and keep updated technical documentation for installation, upgrades, testing, and architecture design, covering both low- and high-level aspects.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of four years' hands-on experience managing Hadoop or Cloudera environments.
- Proficient with Cloudera Manager, CDH/CDP distributions, and Hadoop ecosystem utilities.
- Solid experience in Linux system administration and shell scripting.
- Skilled in using monitoring and logging tools like Ambari, Nagios, and Splunk.
- Knowledgeable about security frameworks including LDAP, Kerberos, and TLS implementations.
- Capable of diagnosing and troubleshooting intricate infrastructure and data pipeline problems.
Academic Background
Possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
