Job description
Role Overview
As a Kitchen Porter, you will be responsible for upholding impeccable hygiene standards throughout the kitchen zones, strictly adhering to Hotel and Hygiene Regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete the HACCP checklist rigorously.
- Clean refrigerators, ovens, food mixers, and food storage areas effectively.
- Wash pots and maintain cleanliness in surrounding work areas.
- Manage rubbish and waste disposal in skip areas.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of all kitchen and storage spaces.
- Empty all bins, refuse sacks, boxes, and similar containers regularly.
- Report promptly for duty in full clean uniform as per company grooming protocols and equipped with assigned personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain high personal hygiene standards, including changing aprons and hats as needed during shifts.
- Perform cleaning tasks according to the cleaning schedule, documenting daily and weekly completed duties.
- Clean utensils, pots, pans, and equipment as required, and organize them neatly.
- Alert the head chef or duty manager to any damaged equipment without delay.
- Conduct thorough deep cleaning of kitchen, larder areas, equipment, and storage in accordance with schedule.
- Wear protective clothing such as gloves and face masks when handling hazardous materials.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings as necessary.
- Observe all safety, hygiene, and security policies including fire protocols and food hygiene standards.
- Understand and implement responsibilities from the Health and Safety Statement and Staff Handbook.
Language Requirement
Fluency in English is mandatory for this role.
