Position Location and Work Setup

This role is based in Letterkenny, County Donegal, Ireland, offering a hybrid work arrangement requiring 2-3 days per week in the office.

Role Overview

Join our dynamic Technology Solutions Group as a DevOps and Cloud Engineer where you'll contribute to scalable application development supporting functional teams like Portfolio Management, Compliance, Finance, Data Governance, Operational Risk, and Human Resources. This role demands strong technical expertise especially in Java or Python and proficiency in SQL to manage extensive internal and external data sets efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with development teams and senior DevOps engineers to identify design challenges and deliver technical solutions in a multi-platform ecosystem including on-premise Linux/Windows, AWS, Azure, and Fabric.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and CloudFormation templates to automate resource management.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines employing GitHub and GitHub actions to enable relentless, swift software build, testing, and delivery via automation.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, source control, and foster new operational and collaborative methods.
• Employ programming languages such as Python, Shell/PowerShell scripting, Groovy alongside CloudFormation and Terraform frameworks.

Candidate Profile

• A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in DevOps engineering roles.
• Demonstrated expertise in deploying and managing applications on cloud platforms including AWS and Azure.
• Comprehensive knowledge of source control systems, particularly git workflows, branching strategies, merges, and conflict resolution.
• Experience constructing workflows in CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions.
• Familiarity across multiple DevOps areas including software development (Java, Python, JavaScript, SQL, Shell scripting, Infrastructure-as-Code, Configuration-as-Code), issue tracking/version control (Jira), package management (pip, npm, uv), build systems (Gradle, Maven), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), artifact repositories (Artifactory, ECR, Nexus), deployment tools (CloudFormation, Ansible, Terraform), and varied deployment environments (Cloud, data centers, containers, SaaS, PaaS).
• Capability to excel within Agile scrum teams as well as independently.
