Housekeeper

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Housekeeper to maintain our facilities with meticulous attention and integrity. This role is crucial in providing a clean, orderly environment that supports our reputation and compliance with quality care standards.

Responsibilities

• Follow infection prevention and control best practices (IPAC) for cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, vacuuming, trash removal, bathroom sanitation, and post-discharge cleaning.
• Comply with IPAC and company protocols for cleaning admission rooms, discharge areas, isolation, and outbreak client rooms and units.
• Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures.
• Ensure all rooms are cleaned and inspected to established standards.
• Protect equipment and promptly report any damage or deficiencies.
• Address reasonable complaints and requests professionally and patiently.
• Monitor and replenish consumables stock as necessary.
• Follow all health and safety rules and company practices diligently.
• Engage in quality assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives consistent with the Quality Management System.
• Participate proactively in health and safety activities and immediately bring any risks or concerns to a supervisor's attention.
• Complete Accident Reports within 24 hours for any workplace injuries of direct reports.
• Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information, discussing it only with authorized personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Secondary school completion preferred, with relevant Home Support Program training as applicable.
• Demonstrated experience working as a cleaner or housekeeper.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high performance levels.
• Effective both working alone and as a cooperative team member.
• Customer-oriented and approachable demeanor.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage difficult situations calmly and fairly.
• Excellent prioritization and time management skills to juggle multiple tasks.
• Efficient worker who maintains quality standards.
• Physically capable of standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching freely, and lifting up to 23 kilograms.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English or French.
• Sound knowledge of infection prevention and control practices.

Experience

At least one year of recent relevant experience or equivalent life experience involving similar responsibilities.

Location

The position is based in Innisfil, Ontario, Canada and requires onsite presence.
