About the Role

BGIS is hiring a full-time Handy Person based in Brisbane, Queensland. This permanent position involves performing routine and urgent maintenance tasks across a variety of building services such as air conditioning, plumbing, tiling, painting, carpentry, and general repairs. You will contribute to maintaining safe, dependable, and well-presented facilities while working collaboratively with a professional team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance involving plumbing, tiling, painting, carpentry, and building system repairs
  • Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests through helpdesk coordination
  • Perform site inspections, equipment checks and suggest asset maintenance improvements
  • Collaborate effectively with Facilities Managers, Supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth maintenance service delivery
  • Maintain accurate records and update work orders within BGIS systems
  • Assist with capital works projects and related documentation
  • Participate in after-hours call-out rotation as needed
  • Adhere to Work Health Safety and Environment (WHSE) standards, regulations, and company policies

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in building or facilities maintenance demonstrating a broad skillset across plumbing, tiling, painting, carpentry, and repairs
  • Minimum of a High School Certificate or equivalent; trade qualifications are advantageous
  • Mandatory White Card and valid driver's license
  • Holding EWP certification or additional licenses is beneficial
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team
  • Excellent communication abilities and customer service orientation
  • Strong commitment to WHSE compliance and quality standards
  • Eligible to work full-time in Australia
