About the Role
Eureka Villages seeks a committed Grounds & Maintenance Officer to maintain the gardens, grounds, and facilities of their residential community in Geraldton, Western Australia. This permanent full-time position offers a hands-on, varied workday with the autonomy to manage tasks independently while contributing to a welcoming, safe environment for residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain outdoor spaces including lawns and gardens by mowing, edging, pruning, planting, weeding, watering, and general upkeep.
- Carry out general repair and handyman activities such as painting, fixture replacement, minor plumbing, basic plastering, and other routine maintenance tasks.
- Ensure communal and surrounding areas remain clean and well-presented through rubbish removal and pressure cleaning.
- Attend to resident maintenance requests promptly, communicate respectfully, and update the Park Manager on progress.
- Adhere to safety protocols by identifying hazards, safely using tools, equipment, and chemicals in line with WHS standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, gardening, property maintenance, or similar hands-on roles.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools and capability to undertake various non-trade maintenance tasks efficiently.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices, especially involving equipment and chemical handling.
- The ability to prioritize workload independently and deliver high-quality results.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a friendly, respectful approach towards residents and teamwork.
