Job description
About the Role
Join QT Technologies Ireland Limited as a GPU Performance Verification Engineer in Cork, focusing on validating and enhancing the performance of the forthcoming Adreno GPU series. These GPUs are integral to Qualcomm's Snapdragon platforms such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Snapdragon X Elite, delivering pioneering performance across gaming, compute, and AI workloads, while ensuring energy efficiency and scalable architecture.
Role Importance
The Adreno GPU plays a central role in Qualcomm’s graphics advancements. The Snapdragon X Elite supports up to 4.6 TFLOPS of GPU computing power, enabling real-time ray tracing, ultra-high FPS gaming experiences, and AI graphics enhancements. The innovative sliced architecture allows for simultaneous shader processor-based core operations, optimizing concurrency and workload allocation. The Snapdragon 8 Elite integrates the Qualcomm Oryon CPU alongside the Adreno 830 GPU, boosting performance by over 30% compared to prior generations, while enabling cinematic 3D environments and realistic object interactions on mobile devices.
AI Integration
Adreno GPUs are closely coupled with Qualcomm's AI Engine to facilitate real-time device-level AI functionalities across vision, language, and audio domains. The Snapdragon 8 Elite accelerates AI performance by up to 45%, supporting multimodal generative AI use cases such as semantic segmentation for camera improvements, AI-assisted ray tracing in gaming, and real-time low-latency voice interaction.
