Role Overview
The Sales Associate is a vital role requiring pet care knowledge to assist customers effectively. You will contribute as part of a team of dedicated Pet Experts, helping pet owners choose the ideal nutritional options and products for their pets. Enthusiasm for learning and career growth in the pet retail industry is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register and conduct customer sales transactions efficiently.
- Handle merchandise orders, perform banking duties, and complete related paperwork.
- Stock small merchandise items (under 10 lbs) in the sales floor area, including pet supplies and household goods.
- Maintain store cleanliness through sweeping, dusting, and other general upkeep tasks.
- Assist with unloading deliveries containing pet food and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs and organize them into inventory.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned to support store operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Prior experience in retail or customer service roles is preferred.
- Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, outgoing demeanor.
- Physical ability to lift weights up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Dependability to work scheduled hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Reliable transportation to commute to and from the store location.
