About the Role and Company

Airswift, a global leader in workforce solutions specializing in energy, process, and infrastructure sectors, is recruiting for a Construction Supervisor (Electrical & Instrumentation) to join a major oil and gas project in Doha, Qatar. The company offers extensive international reach with over 1,000 employees and 9,000 contractors across more than 70 countries, providing expert staffing tailored to client needs.

Key Responsibilities and Experience

The selected candidate will oversee electrical and instrumentation construction activities onshore within petroleum projects, focusing on both new greenfield sites and existing brownfield facilities. Duties include managing permits such as lockout/tagout on live systems, conducting tie-ins, supervising substation and control room construction, and ensuring adherence to Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) during construction and testing. The role involves supervising Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for electrical and instrumentation control systems, installing cathodic protection for underground and aboveground infrastructure, and supporting testing and precommissioning phases. Preference is given to applicants knowledgeable in High Voltage electrical systems and those with substantial superintendent-level experience in EPIC contractor roles or client/project management positions in the Gulf region.

Qualifications and Technical Knowledge

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from a recognized international university, with formal QA/QC training regarded as beneficial. A demonstrated minimum of 12 to 15 years of relevant electrical and instrumentation construction expertise in oil and gas, along with familiarity with international standards and codes such as QCS, ACI, AISC, BS/EN/ISO/ASTM, and Shell Design Engineering Practices, is required. Experience within industrial zones in Qatar or other GCC nations will be considered an advantage.
