Position Summary
We are partnering with a national operator in Qatar to recruit a Senior Technical HSE Engineer for a long-term, onsite contract. This role involves providing technical safety and risk engineering support for onshore operations.
Job Details
- Role: Senior Technical HSE Engineer
- Location: Qatar Onshore
- Start Date: Immediate or within one month's notice
- Working Hours: Generally 5 days a week, 8-10 hours daily, flexible based on project demands
Core Responsibilities
The position entails delivering safety and risk engineering assistance to various departments, actively engaging in analyzing and assessing operational risks for current and new installations. The candidate will also support and help implement process safety and risk management programs within the department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science is mandatory
- Postgraduate degree or professional certification in HSE or Safety Engineering is preferred
Skills & Experience
- Advanced experience with risk management methodologies including Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA), Hazard Identification (HAZID), Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP), Bow Tie Analysis, and Operational Risk Assessment (ORA)
- Certification as Lead Auditor by IRCA or equivalent international HSE accreditation is advantageous
- Minimum of 15 years overall professional experience, ideally within multinational corporations or oil and gas sectors, including offshore exposure
- At least 5 years specializing in HSE risk management and loss prevention, preferably in oil and gas operations
- Experience in safety engineering, HSE supervisory or managerial roles, consultancies, auditing, or similar capacities will be valued
- Proficient in written and spoken English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of computer literacy
