Role Overview

As a Cluster Paymaster, you will oversee payroll processing for multiple hotels and resorts, ensuring precise and timely payments to all employees, from entry-level staff to executives. This role demands adherence to local laws, internal standards, and dedication to a people-first culture. Collaboration with HR, Finance, and Legal teams is essential for success.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll operations across various countries for diverse employee categories including full-time, part-time, seasonal, and expatriates.
  • Administer payroll in multiple currencies and address hospitality-specific payroll elements such as service charges and tip pooling.
  • Ensure accurate tax withholding, statutory compliance, and timely filings per country’s legal requirements.
  • Handle complexities involving expatriate compensation, gratuities, and retroactive adjustments.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor laws and payroll regulations in key operational regions.
  • Conduct regular compliance reviews and reconcile payroll records with HR systems.
  • Collaborate with Legal to manage payroll-related audits or investigations.
  • Oversee payroll software and its integration with HR and timekeeping systems, advancing automation to reduce errors and manual workload.
  • Implement controls to detect errors or misclassifications before payroll execution.
  • Provide training to on-site payroll teams regarding systems, standards, and best practices.
  • Facilitate employee self-service platforms for access to payslips and tax documents.
  • Prepare contingency plans to ensure payroll continuity during system issues or external disruptions.
  • Partner with HR and recruitment to evaluate payroll implications during geographic expansions and new property openings.
  • Support payroll integration during acquisitions and new property launches.
  • Deliver data-driven advice for compensation strategy and budgeting.
  • Generate clear reports on labor expenses, overtime trends, and payroll analytics.
  • Utilize insights to identify cost-saving measures and strategic workforce planning opportunities.
  • Contribute to company-wide initiatives on pay equity, sustainability, and social responsibility through payroll data.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional payroll or accounting certification such as CPP or CPA.
  • Extensive payroll management experience, especially within hospitality or multi-national environments.
  • Proficiency with leading payroll software and ERP platforms.
  • Strong understanding of hospitality sector payroll specifics.
  • Advanced skills in data analysis, spreadsheet management, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with international payroll legislation and best practices.
