Classification Officer

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee and assess the performance of subordinate personnel in accordance with facility and corporate policies.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with administrators, staff, inmates, visitors, and the public. This includes providing information and instructions, mediating disputes, advising on rights and procedures, and offering credible testimony in court or formal hearings, all while exercising tact, diplomacy, fairness, firmness, and sound judgment.
• Conduct thorough searches of individuals and objects to detect and confiscate contraband.
• Escort inmates or coordinate their movement throughout the facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in social science, behavioral science, or a closely related area.
• Preferred: At least three years of experience working with inmates or residents in roles such as social work, classification, probation and parole, rehabilitation, or penology. Equivalent combinations of education and work experience will be considered.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Compensation

The position offers an hourly wage of $22.70.
